1947: THE WORLD'S SMALLEST SUPERHET!
HEY! THIS SITE ISN'T CONFINING ITSELF EXCLUSIVELY TO AMATEUR RADIO. I HAVE AN EQUALLY GREATER LOVE OF BROADCAST RADIO. DO YOU REMEMBER THOSE "PEANUT TUBES" THAT STOOD ALL OF US ON OUR COLLECTIVE REARS WHEN THEY WERE INCORPORATED INTO THOSE TINY PORTABLE AC/DC RADIOS RIGHT AFTER WWII? MINE WAS A SILVERTONE AS MANUFACTURED BY OR FOR SEARS. IT WAS A QUALITY RADIO EXCEPT THAT THE CABINET WAS SOME KIND OF CLOTH WHICH CAME APART AT THE SEAMS. I HAD THAT RADIO RIGHT UP TO THE LATE 40'S WHEN I GOT AN ADMIRAL PORTABLE WITH THE BAKELITE CABINET. AHH....THE MEMORIES!
